Jericho Writers began in 2004 when best-selling author, Harry Bingham, set up a new kind of company offering writers expert editorial assistance.

Today, we’re a worldwide team of real-life writers who offer everything you need to help you write, edit and get your book published.

Harry Bingham

Founder

Harry is the bestselling author of a dozen novels and multiple works of non-fiction. He’s been published all over the world, had his work adapted for TV, been on prize short- and long-lists, and had worldwide critical acclaim. Simon Dodd

CEO

Simon looks after the day-to-day running of Jericho Writers – everything from strategic planning to the numbers, to looking after the team. Simon has a 30+ years career in Marketing and Marketing Communications, so he’s also closely involved in progressing the Jericho Writers brand and its expression.  In the little spare time that Simon has he’s found either listening to music, playing cricket or pottering around with cars. LinkedIn.

Anna Burtt

Head of Events

Anna is the founder of the West Hill Writers group in Brighton, works for a range of independent publishers, lectures on book marketing and reads voraciously. She is the host of The Brighton Book Club. Anna loves working with passionate writers, established authors and the fantastic team at Jericho. Stephanie Vendryes

Head of Writers’ Support

Stephanie is our writer support queen. If you’ve called us, you may have noticed that she’s French. She studied art history and illustration in Paris, and is a compulsive reader, from science-fiction to literary fiction. She also writes in her free time.

Sophie Flynn

Head of Marketing

Sophie is an author and Head of Marketing. Her debut novel, ‘All My Lies’, is published by Simon & Schuster. When she’s not writing or working, she can mostly be found walking her rescue dog, Nellie, in the muddy fields of the Cotswolds. Being asked to choose just one book for this bio is the hardest thing she has ever had to do. Rachael Cooper

Head of Publishing & AgentMatch

Rachael manages the publishing department and AgentMatch. She has an MA in Eighteenth-Century Literature and Romanticism; she specialises in female sociability and is currently writing a series of articles about her research. You can normally find Rachael in the rare books room at the British Library or in a bookstore looking for yet another Penguin Classic!  LinkedIn.

Maria Pace

Head of Courses & Mentoring

Maria manages our courses and mentoring services. She has a BA in English and an MA in Publishing Media. After three years in Oxford, she recently moved back to Malta where she spends her free time making us all jealous by going to the beach. She now splits her time between Oxford and Malta, taking a book and a camera everywhere she goes. LinkedIn.

Polly Peraza-Brown

Head of Writers’ Support (maternity cover)

Polly is the Writer Support Manager and also runs the Agent One-to-One sessions. You can find her happily answering any publishing related questions you might have. Polly has a BA in Linguistics and an MA in Publishing Media. She’s worked in various roles in the media industry and has a particular penchant for memoirs and feminist non-fiction. She has a book & travel blog called ‘Where Polly Wanders’.

Natali Juste Simmonds

Head of Community & Editorial Commissions

Natali is an author who has written various fantasy series as N J Simmonds and Caedis Knight. She also lectures on all things marketing and creative. At Jericho Writers she’s head of our Community, as well as commissioning editor for our blog articles. Although a proud Londoner, she now lives with her family in Spain and the Netherlands, where she can be found either reading on the beach or complaining about having to cycle in the rain. LinkedIn.

Esther Vincent

Marketing Executive

Esther works in the marketing department and manages our social media channels. She moved to Oxford two years ago from Sheffield – she loves her new city but misses the £3 pints in the North. Esther did her BA in English Literature and History of Art at the University of York, and her biggest life ambition is to own a sausage dog called Gerald.   LinkedIn.

Campaigns Manager

Jonny manages the advertising and emails communications to make sure everyone knows what’s going on in the world of Jericho Writers. When he isn’t glued to a laptop, he’s a big sailing fanatic, who is constantly frustrated at living in one of the furthest places from the sea.

Drew Broussard

USA Events Coordinator

Drew is a writer/producer/creator. He’s curated and produced events for The Public Theater, The Meteor, Selected Shorts, and more. His writing has appeared at Literary Hub, Tor Nightfire, Unbound Worlds, 3:AM Magazine, and in many notebooks. He is the producer of Thresholds with Jordan Kisner, the producer and host of Voyage into Genre, and the former co-host of So Many Damn Books. He lives between a mountain and a reservoir outside of Woodstock, NY.

Ryan Annis

IT Manager

Responsible for maintaining existing IT and introducing new solutions to keep the Jericho Writers digital workplace secure, effective & reliable. Ryan has a PhD in Engineering and enjoys putting his “geeky” interests to use, inventing contraptions of questionable utility in his spare time.

August Buck

UNWC Moderator

August is a full-time freelance writer and the current International Ultimate Novel Writing Course Moderator. When they aren’t writing SEO articles and their fantasy novel series, they enjoy spending time with their high school sweetheart and mischievous puppy named Sonny. They are also quite the home chef, currently trying to perfect recipes in a gleaming 12″ cast iron skillet.

Elsie is one of our Writer Support Team Assistants who enjoys giving writing advice and unasked for book recommendations. Kaile is one of our Writer Support Team members and is instantly recognizable by her obvious American accent. Kaile is usually busy reading a work in translation or daydreaming about traveling to international book fairs.

Thea graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2020 with a degree in German and English Literature. She started at Jericho Writers working on AgentMatch and our blogs, and is now a Writer Support Assistant. Every day on the job she learns something new about writing! When she’s not working, she’s spending time with her two sighthounds and putting a dent in her first novel.

Kate Walker

Content Assistant

Kate is a content assistant working on AgentMatch at Jericho Writers. She studied English Literature at the University of Exeter and has a particular love for novels from the 19th Century. When she’s not busy reading everything she can get her hands on, she spends her time writing, baking, listening to musical soundtracks, and visiting museums and art galleries.

Savannah Jackson

Digital Content Assistant

Savannah is a Content Assistant at Jericho Writers and likes nothing more than immersing herself in a world of books. She has a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Warwick. In her free time, she writes poetry, plays guitar, and relaxes with her cats. She finds choosing her favourite book to be an almost impossible task!

Josh Denby

Video & Marketing Assistant

Josh spent four years at the University of York completing a BSc in Film and Television and acquiring a PG Diploma is Postproduction and Visual Effects. He has been writing scripts in multiple genres regularly for over six years and is currently writing a fantasy novel and a short story collection in a dystopian sci-fi world. Ultimate Novel Writing Course Tutor

Contract type: This will be a freelance role. We expect hours to range from 5-10 hours per week, although this will vary on a week-by-week basis.

Rates: competitive rates based on experience

Location: Remote (Ideally based in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) or Eastern Time (ET) as this is when all online calls and events will take place).

About the role:

The Ultimate Novel Writing Course (UNWC) is a year-long, online novel writing course that takes students from initial concept through to publication – with expert support and guidance every step of the way. Jericho Writers is looking for experienced authors to join our carefully selected team of acclaimed tutors for the upcoming UNWC (UK) and UNWC (US) programmes, running from September 2022-July 2023. 

Reporting to the Head of Courses, this role will involve assessing applications, preparing course materials, and supporting and mentoring an assigned group of students through each course component. 

The course is a significant investment for our students, so we expect a high level of commitment and professionalism from all our UNWC tutors.
